  • 3 green onions (chopped)
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tbsp ginger (minced)
  • 4 cups chicken/beef/vegetable broth
  • 12 oz frozen wontons (chicken cilantro mini wontons)
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • ½ cup neutral oil (peanut, avocado, vegetable)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • ¼ cup red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil (optional)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp salt


Instructions

  1. Make the chili oil by combining chili flakes, sesame seeds, minced garlic, minced ginger, sugar, and salt in a heat-safe bowl. Heat neutral oil until hot and pour over the mixture; stir to infuse.
  2. In a large pot, melt coconut oil and sauté the white parts of green onions along with garlic and ginger until fragrant.
  3. Add the broth and bring to a simmer for about 5 minutes.
  4. Gently add the frozen wontons along with soy sauce; cook until heated through.
  5. Serve hot, garnished with green onion tops and drizzled with chili oil.
