  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon instant coffee granules
  • 2-4 tablespoon heavy whipping cream
  • 2 cups powdered sugar


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch baking dish.
  2. Melt butter and let it cool slightly. In a large bowl, combine melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whisk cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add this to the wet mixture until just combined.
  4. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Allow brownies to cool completely before preparing the frosting: mix instant coffee with heavy cream and set aside.
  6. Beat softened butter until fluffy; gradually add powdered sugar, then incorporate the coffee mixture to reach desired consistency.
  7. Frost cooled brownies generously before cutting into squares.
