Description
Pear Chocolate Hazelnut Croissants are a delicious bakery-style pastry that combines flaky, buttery croissant dough with sweet ripe pears and rich chocolate hazelnut spread. As the croissants bake, the layers become golden and crisp while the filling melts into a creamy, chocolatey center balanced by the natural sweetness of the pears. A sprinkle of crunchy hazelnuts adds texture, and a light dusting of powdered sugar finishes the pastries perfectly. These croissants are ideal for breakfast, brunch, or a sweet afternoon treat and are surprisingly easy to make with store-bought dough.
Ingredients
For the Croissants
1 package croissant dough (crescent roll dough can be used as a substitute)
2 medium pears (Bartlett or Anjou varieties recommended)
For the Filling
1/2 cup chocolate hazelnut spread
1/4 cup hazelnuts (chopped)
For the Topping
2 tablespoons powdered sugar (or honey for a different flavor)
Instructions
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Prepare the Pears
Wash the pears, remove the core, and slice them thinly. Set aside.
Prepare the Dough
Open the croissant dough and gently unroll it onto a clean surface. Separate it into individual triangular pieces.
Add the Filling
Spread about 1 tablespoon of chocolate hazelnut spread onto each triangle of dough. Place a few slices of pear on top, then sprinkle with chopped hazelnuts.
Shape the Croissants
Starting from the wide end of each triangle, roll the dough toward the pointed end to form a crescent shape. Place them seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake
Bake for 15–20 minutes or until the croissants are golden brown and flaky.
Serve
Allow the croissants to cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
