Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 8 oz lump crab meat
  • 4 oz claw crab meat
  • 1 1/2 cups mozzarella (shredded)
  • 1/4 cup mozzarella (cubed)
  • 1/4 cup shallot (minced)
  • 1/4 cup red bell pepper (minced)
  • 1 tbsp parsley (freshly chopped)
  • 1 tbsp chives (minced)
  • 1 tsp garlic (paste or minced)
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 3 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • 1 tsp parsley (freshly chopped)
  • 1 tsp chives (freshly chopped)
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, lump crab meat, claw crab meat, shredded mozzarella, cubed mozzarella, minced shallot, minced red bell pepper, parsley, chives, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic until well mixed.
  2. Form the mixture into sticks about 3 inches long and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Prepare the egg wash by whisking together eggs and water in one bowl. In another bowl, mix panko breadcrumbs with Old Bay seasoning and black pepper.
  4. Dip each stick first into the egg wash and then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Heat canola oil in a frying pan over medium heat and fry the sticks in batches until golden brown on all sides (about 3-4 minutes per side).
  6. Serve hot with homemade remoulade for dipping.
