  • 10 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 ounces semisweet baking chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs plus 1 yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×9 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the chopped chocolate and butter together in a saucepan over low heat until smooth.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, egg yolk, vanilla extract, and peanut butter.
  4. Combine the melted chocolate with the wet mixture until well blended.
  5. In another bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt; fold into the wet mixture.
  6. Pour half the batter into the prepared pan, add dollops of peanut butter on top, then layer with the remaining batter.
  7. Bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  8. Allow cooling before slicing into squares.
