Ingredients

  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 250 g cold butter (cubed)
  • 100 g full-fat sour cream
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 vial vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ½ packet dry yeast (34 g)
  • Turkish delight or jam mixed with nuts (to taste)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together egg, sugar, yeast, and vanilla until combined.
  2. Add cold sour cream to the mixture and stir until blended.
  3. In another bowl, mix flour and salt; then rub in cold cubed butter until crumbly.
  4. Combine the sour cream mixture with the flour-butter blend to form a smooth dough ball.
  5. Divide the dough into three portions, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least two hours.
  6. Roll each portion into a circle, cut into triangles, fill with Turkish delight or jam, and roll into crescents.
  7. Bake at 180–200°C (356–392°F) for about 12 minutes until lightly golden.
  8. Dust cooled cookies generously with powdered sugar before serving.
