  • 4 oz cream cheese (or dairy-free cream cheese)
  • 2 tbsp white sugar (or powdered sugar)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup diced strawberries
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp cold water


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface to about 1/8-inch thick and cut into heart shapes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Fold in diced strawberries.
  4. Place half of the hearts on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Spoon filling onto each, then top with another heart shape, sealing the edges.
  5. Whisk egg and water together; brush over the tops of the danishes.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
