Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup dry white apple vinegar
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 1/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • ¼ cup flour
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch (+ 2 tablespoons cold water, optional)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • Fresh parsley (to garnish)
  • 1 teaspoon each: dried parsley, mustard powder
  • ½ teaspoon each: dried oregano, dried basil

Instructions

  1. Slice the chicken breasts in half lengthwise and pound to about ½ inch thick.
  2. Season both sides with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; dredge in flour.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat and sear the chicken for 4–5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from skillet.
  4. Deglaze the pan with white apple vinegar, scraping up browned bits; simmer until reduced by half.
  5. Add butter and minced garlic; cook for one minute before adding Worcestershire sauce, chicken broth, and seasonings.
  6. For thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with cold water; gradually add while stirring.
  7. Lower heat and stir in heavy cream and Parmesan until melted.
  8. Return chicken to skillet, spoon sauce over it, cover partially, and let simmer for five minutes before serving.
