  • 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 large chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 medium onion (chopped)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 3/4 cup chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes


Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese by microwaving it until very soft.
  2. Cut the chicken breasts in half lengthwise and season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. In a skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter and olive oil. Add the seasoned chicken and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through (165°F). Transfer to a plate.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté chopped onions until softened and browned (about 5-7 minutes). Add minced garlic and sauté for another 30 seconds.
  5. Pour in chicken broth along with softened cream cheese, Italian seasoning, and crushed red pepper flakes. Stir until smooth.
  6. Return cooked chicken to the skillet, heating through while mixing well with the sauce. Adjust seasoning as needed.
