- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup divided brown sugar for filling
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/3 cup melted butter for filling
Instructions
- Activate the yeast by combining warm milk, sugar, and yeast in a mixing bowl; let sit until frothy.
- In a large bowl, mix 4 cups flour with salt. Add the yeast mixture, softened butter, and beaten egg; stir until combined.
- Gradually add the remaining flour to form a soft dough. Knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and allow it to rise in a warm area until doubled—about 1 hour.
- While rising, prepare the caramel topping by melting brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
