Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • ¾ cup salted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 3 cups chopped fresh strawberries
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for filling)
  • ½ cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon heavy whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt (if using unsalted butter). Mix well.
  3. Stir in melted butter and vanilla until combined. Form large crumbs with two-thirds of the mixture and press evenly into the pan.
  4. Bake the crust for 15-20 minutes until slightly golden; let cool.
  5. In another bowl, mix chopped strawberries with granulated sugar and flour, then spoon over the cooled crust.
  6. Crumble remaining crust mixture on top of the strawberries and bake for an additional 30-35 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  7. Allow to cool completely before drizzling with a glaze made from whisking powdered sugar, cream, and vanilla until smooth.
