  • 3/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tbsp red apple vinegar
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp garlic, freshly minced
  • 1 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp warm water
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup onion, diced
  • 1 1/4 cup broccoli florets
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 4 cups cooked rice


Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, water, red apple vinegar, brown sugar, sugar, minced garlic, ginger, cornstarch, warm water, and red pepper flakes until well combined. Set aside.
  2. In your skillet over medium heat, add vegetable oil. Once hot, add diced onion and cook until translucent. Stir in additional garlic followed by broccoli florets and carrot slices. Sauté until just tender—about 5 minutes.
  3. Add ground turkey to the skillet with vegetables. Break it apart with your spatula and cook until browned—about 7-10 minutes. Ensure it's cooked through.
  4. Pour your prepared sauce over the browned ground turkey mixture. Stir well to coat everything evenly. Allow it to simmer for about 3-5 minutes until thickened.
  5. Spoon rice into bowls or plates. Top generously with the turkey mixture. Garnish with sliced green onions before serving.
